Calis is Fethiye's beach area with a 4km expanse of shingle beach and a pedestrianised road, running parallel to the beach, which is lined with bars, restaurants and hotels. Dolmuses make the 5km trip from Fethiye to Calis through the day and into the evening, although the water taxi is slower but even more enjoyable.We'd recommend you choose Calis if you want a beach base with access to local character, and Fethiye if a colourful Turkish atmosphere is your main priority.
